On April 12, 2019, the Osceola County School for the Arts will host the 25th annual Arts Alive.

Arts Alive is an art showcase held for Osceola County High School Students, sponsored by the Ace Osceola Coalition. The showcase has members from various art disciplines such as Visual Arts, Cinematography, Dance, Instrumental, Musical, Technical and Performance Theater, Vocal and Creative Writing. The roles for the showcase are assigned to each artist and announced at the Arts Alive Rehearsal on April 10.

Those participating perform in solos, duets or ensembles, however, seniors applying for the Osceola Arts Scholarship must apply with a solo. Joey Mathis, a Senior Creative Writer who will be participating in this year’s Arts Alive stated “The Arts Alive showcase has made me come out of my shell. (I know) You can just sit there, but I wanted to get to know my fellow artists.”

The proceeds of Arts Alive go directly to the Senior scholarship and teacher grants. In order to apply, seniors must complete the scholarship application and an essay on “How the Arts Have Changed My Life.” They must also supply proof of college acceptance or application, an unofficial school transcript, a resume and attend the scholarship interview.

Arts Alive will be held in the theater and begin at 7 p.m., with a $10 admission fee. Advanced tickets can be purchased at www.aceosceola.org.
