Vocal Receives Straight Superiors at MPAs

Mackenzie Riley, Reporter

Last Thursday and Friday, the vocal department participated in the Florida Vocal Association’s regional Musical Performance Assessment (MPA). Every OCSA choir that attended received a superior rating, the highest score that can be given, and the 7th/8th grade choir received a superior with distinction.

Harry Otero a Junior Vocal major in the school’s Chamber Choir, Men’s Choir, and Show Choir, stated, “All of the choirs are so proud and feel so accomplished! It took a lot of rehearsal and mistakes, but we are all glad because we took home straight superiors.”  All of the high school choirs will move on to the state competition in March.

The OCSA Ledger wishes the Vocal Department the best of luck at states and congratulates them on their success!
