Spring Dance Concert

On April 6, the dance department presented their annual spring dance concert, where they featured senior projects as well as a guest choreographer, Chris Gonzalez.

The concert was a high-energy performance that featured dancers in solos, duets, trios, and groups.

Sophomore dance major Alba Santiago captivated the audience with her beautiful choreography entitled “Insecurities,” which she performed to the song “What the World Needs Now” by Will Young, illustrating the lack of love present today and the desperate need to regain it.

Eric Louis, a senior dance major, expressed to the OCSA Ledger that one thing that he will take away from the concert and his senior year is the wisdom offered to him from Dr. Austin, “pursue not what you’re supposed to do, but what you love to do.” He says that she allowed him to open his mind creatively and to view things in different perspectives. “I will always remember my teachers and the people that got me to this point in my life. I plan on doing big things,” he says in his final statement, “mark my words.”

At the end of the show, the students demonstrated their gratitude to teachers and staff who helped in putting the performance together and paid a special thanks to Ms. Brunson and Dr Austin for the impacts they have had on each and every one of their lives.
