The OCSA Speech and Debate team is now recruiting for next year! Ms. Taylor, the team sponsor, is holding tryouts on April 30th and May 1st to determine what event is right for you. Debate events include, Lincoln Douglas(1 vs 1), Public Forum(teams of 2), Congress, Big Questions, and Policy, while Speech topics include Original oratory, Oral Interpretation of literature, Extemporaneous Speech, Dramatic interpretation, Duo interpretation, and Humorous interpretation.

All of the events are held at the NSDA Speech and Debate competitions, which will be held throughout next year. The privilege of being on the Speech and Debate team is not only a great, confidence building activity but also one that will make a College Application look more appealing.

Auditions will have candidates the challenge of delivering a 1-2 minute argumentative speech or monologue. Debate team members will come to classrooms to speak about the opportunities in select classes on April 23rd through April 27th.
