Chris Wallace, news anchor and journalist from FOX, has joined CNN after 18 years of working at FOX News.

Wallace himself is a veteran journalist who has spent more than 50 years in the business, joining Fox News in 2003 after 14 years working at ABC News. Before this decorated career, however, he was NBC News’ chief White House correspondent. Wallace has many accomplishments: hosting a general election presidential debate, covering five presidential elections, and interviewing every president since H.W Bush. However, according to Wallace, “I want to try something new to go beyond politics to all the things I’m interested in.”

Following his announcement to leave this past Sunday from his FOX News talk show, CNN issued a statement declaring Wallace to be joining CNN sometime in the very near future. “It is not often that a news organization gets the opportunity to bring someone of Chris Wallace’s caliber on board. He is as fine a journalist as there is in our business,” Jeff Zucker, CNN’s president stated.

Wallace intends to join CNN+, the new streaming service CNN aims to launch in the near future, as part of a new program. Although the details of it have yet to be made clear, Wallace seems to be aiming at the other aspects of the world aside from politics. This is, however, nothing but speculation.
