Xbox hopes to buy Activision.

Xbox has recently come up with the deal of buying the game developing company known as Activision Blizzard for $68.7 Billion. Owning already major gaming franchises such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and etc., Activision is sure to give Xbox a more brightly lit future, owning the likes of all the games.

The deal however is not a success yet, “…it’s likely that the deal will be examined as to whether it creates a monopoly before it’s formally approved,” says IGN Entertainment, a multimedia game news and review website. While this goes on, Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox Gaming says Activision will still run independently until the deal is done and sealed. As the new Xbox Game Pass begins to roll out at the same time, it’s a great opportunity to include most of the games from Activision. Luckily, most and if not, all games will still be accessible on PlayStation, but Xbox will hold more exclusive content.

However, already acknowledged by Microsoft, Activision had some trouble in the last year, such as scandals, workplace abuse and overall, the actions of CEO Bobby Kotick. It was a big conflict amongst the company and had reached many people who had discussed the problems going on. Many of the conflicts had not gone through in a good way for many people, and it was a big downhill slope for Activision. Kotick remains to be CEO even after some horrible decisions, even Spencer being “disturbed and deeply troubled” by reports of the company. Although, Kotick will retain from position after the acquisition.

Microsoft hopes that by buying Activision, they can boost their stats on the gaming business, but also become top 3 in the largest gaming businesses, which can be a big deal. It will be exciting to find out just what Xbox can do with Activision, whether it be an extraordinary surprise, or a throw down to players.
