As temperatures start to plummet, Solid Rock Community Church in Kissimmee reopen their doors to the public for those who need shelter during this kind of weather.

“Really, the purpose of this cold night shelter is to say we are here to be a blessing to this community. Nobody deserves to be outside freezing at night. Everyone deserves a warm place to stay. We have meals for everyone that comes in,” states Pastor Matt Quianoo.

The church and Pastor Matt Quianoo have previously offered meals to those in need, so opening their doors wasn’t much of a problem over the past few days. Another option is The First United Methodist Church located in St. Cloud which has been offering cold night shelter for over 30 years. Their church hit their max capacity on Saturday night as temperatures hit the lowest it’s been this year.

Solid Rock Community Church and The First United Methodist Church say they will continue to provide shelter to anyone in need whenever temperatures hit lower than 40 degrees.
