US Congress push to defund free COVID treatment and testing

As of January 30th 2022, there have been 116,759 new cases of COVID-19. With this in mind, there have been in all 74.3 million cases in the US and 883 thousand deaths. The Biden Administration released a statement discussing the importance of testing to ensure proper precautions taken when exposed to the Coronavirus.

Commencing on January 19th, free at-home COVID tests will be mailed to households. It will include 4 tests, only one shipment per home. The Whitehouse asserted in an article “To ensure equity and access for all Americans, the Administration will also launch a call line to help those unable to access the website to place orders.”

Continuing their action, they provided $10 billion in funding to get tests to schools.  As well as investing $6 billion to cover free testing for uninsured individuals.

To get free at-home tests go to https://www.covidtests.gov and place an order. It will ship within 7-12 days says the White House shipped by the US Postal Service.

The President Biden urges people in the US to get vaccinated and receive a booster shot.

It is crucial to get tested when exhibiting symptoms of the virus. These include:

  • Sore Throat
  • Headache
  • Congestion
