Congratulations to Emilyanne Richart, Niko Crowder, and Tomas Sanchez J. for their acceptance in the Page15 poetry anthology.

Page 15 is a nonprofit organization that has been around since 2008, hosting several writing contests to aspire young artists. Out of the hundreds of people who submitted, only 15 writers are accepted to be published in the Volume 10 version of the book. This year’s theme being connection, disconnection.

Emilyanne Richart, a Senior Creative Writer at Osceola County School for the Arts, submitted her poem entitled “Moonlight Sky” featuring her take on the prompt disconnection. Her style of writing is extremely lyrical and imagery based, taking the reader on a journey of pure, surreal reality.

Tomas Sanchez J, a Sophomore Creative Writer at Osceola County School for the Arts, also got accepted, with his poem titled, “Sizzle/Grease”. This is his second time being chosen for Page 15. Continuing, Sanchez has received numerous writing awards such as the Silver Key from the Scholastic Art and Writing contest. His style of writing includes a rigid taste of esoteric diction, making his form of writing unique and enjoyable to read. “This piece represents the dissociation, meaning the connection and disconnection of reality that I’ve experienced as a working teenager in America. The piece goes into the disconnection of reality represented by oil and water,” says Tomas Sanchez.

Niko Crowder’s poem, “in a beautiful world of <3,” got him accepted for the second time in the contest. Crowder went about crafting his poem by “experimenting with new styles and going about it in a more positive way.” He was trying to depict “creation to connection” said the poet.

These outstanding artists show their dedication and talent on the daily, and Page15 gives them the recognition and credit they deserve. All three have worked hard to share their art with the world. You should most definitely check out their poetry along with the 12 other writers selected by going to Page15.org and ordering your own copy of the book when it comes out.
