Late last night, a raging brush fire broke out along interstate 95, north of Micco Road in Brevard County. The thick smoke from the Brevard brush fires caused authorities to shut down the interstate from Malabar Road to the Indian River County line on Monday, April 30. Though the smoke was serious, no house nor person was threatened by the fire.

95% of the 600-acre brush fire was contained by 23 fire units and a STAR helicopter on the scene. Although the origins of the fire remain unknown, authorities are monitoring smoke conditions.
