James Corden is an English actor and comedian, mostly known as the host of the Late Late Show with James Corden, a late-night talk show that premiered on March 9, 2015, and has been running since. Corden’s show has touched many, such as his segments where he meets with celebrities and shows the audience a more human side of those who they look up to. A renowned section of the show is also ‘Carpool Karaoke’, in which Corden invites famed musical guests to sing along to their songs or albums with him, which usually occurs on a certain route and takes place with Corden as driver.

The British host has made the decision to move back to his home in order to be around his family. The show had undoubtedly strained many counts of familial time, and Corden made the announcement that he would be departing ahead of summer 2023 after eight years of participating in the show.

“We are all determined to make this the best year we have ever had. We are going to go out with a bang,” Corden began, during a recorded performance of the Late Late Show.

Though he will not be the host of the show anymore, Corden stated that he can’t see an ending for it in the near future. At the time of writing, no network had further comment on who will succeed him as host of the Late Late Show, nor his departure.

“I never saw it as my final destination, and I never want this show to overstay it’s welcome. I always want to love making it. I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on to see what else is out there,” he said, during the announcement of his retirement.
