Students around OCSA show off their fall fashion.

What’s bright, bold, and back on the rack right now? Bedazzled jeans? Platform sandals? Hair clips of all shapes and sizes? Well, yes, but there’s a clear star of the show that’s coming in hot: Fetch Fits! The only fashion column a student could ever need is returning to serve the student body another year.

Some students are fine with a polo and jeans. Others might prefer a crisp dress shirt and slacks. And there are plenty of other students that rock handmade jewelry, editorial-worthy makeup, or painted-on, patched-up jackets. But they all have one thing in common: they’re totally fetch. Fetch, as in fetching, as in charming, as in you look so good today. Style isn’t one size fits all, and we encourage you to wear what makes you smile.

However, now that the weather is starting to cool down, figuring out what to wear can get a little confusing. Especially when it’s sweater weather in the morning, heat wave central at lunch, and raining cats and dogs by dismissal. On whacky weather days like that, it’s a perfect chance to apply the art of layering. “Light layering is the holy grail of Floridian fashion,” says Evelyn Tippett, an OCSA freshman and Florida native. Every fashion-forward student raves about layering, and rightfully so: it’s cute, practical, and so much easier than you’d think.

First, there’s the polo under a pullover or crewneck sweatshirt. It’s a classic combo, and the sweater can be removed if needed. You could also switch a full-on sweatshirt for a zip-up hoodie or jacket if you want something easier to take off. If you aren’t ready to let go of skirts just yet, consider adding a pair of cute tights or leg warmers underneath. A flowy longer skirt you can dress up or down can also be a good staple piece for breezy days. As for footwear? Boots and sneakers are the way to go-to stay warm and safe from rain. And there you have it, fail-proof ways to start dressing for fall!

Hopefully, these simple rules will keep you prepared and stylish for the coming season. But beyond outfit tips and trends, this article is only the start of a long year of reads, rants, reviews, and plenty of ribbons. Be sure to stick around for more hits from Fetch Fits!
