Gaylord Palms, the popular resort and convention center located right here in Kissimmee, Florida, is celebrating Christmas with an abundance of events and activities from December to January. Dazzling lights, ice-cold temperatures, and acrobats flying across the skies make Christmas at Gaylord Palms an unforgettable experience.

One of the more popular events they’re having this year is called ICE!, an ice show that showcases the story of How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr Seuss with over 2 million pounds of colored ice sculpted with perfect craftmanship. The exhibit itself is only 9 degrees, and coats are provided to help visitors keep warm.

“Carving more than 10 million pounds of ice, it will take a team of 40 artisans from Harbin, China, approximately six weeks to create each 19,000-square-foot frozen attraction. These expert artisans follow a 300-page design book filled with sketches and blueprints to create each individual piece,” states the Gaylord Palms website. Excellent dedication is put into the making of each sculpture, making this show a must-see.

Another fun presentation in Gaylord Palms is Cirque: The Spirit of Christmas. In this 35-minute-long show, actors perform in a Broadway-style show following a young girl named Noel who’s trying to rekindle her spirit for Christmas. The show also features acrobats soaring in mid-air, gymnastics, and wondrous spirits singing and dancing. The tickets are cheap, starting at $8 for adults and $5 for kids aged 4-11. Children under 4 can attend for free.

There are also many other things to participate in, like a holiday escape room, ice tubing, a light show, and many more. Because Gaylord Palms also doubles as a resort, rooms are open to rent for a few days, giving plenty of time to enjoy each activity equally. If you’re interested, tickets for everything listed are available on the Gaylord Palms website (christmasatgaylordpalms.marriott.com). If you’re not looking to buy everything separate, they’re offering ticket packages including an activity and hotel room bundle. The events and packages are both susceptible to being sold out, so get them quick and enjoy the holidays!
