Although hurricane season does not begin until June 1, Florida is being hit by a tropical disturbance. Over 4 inches of rain is expected in the next 24 hours.

Late Sunday, the National Weather service identified a tropical disturbance hovering over South Florida. Even though there is only a 40% chance of the disturbance developing into a major system, meteorologists are keeping a close eye on the system. There is at least a 90% chance of rain across central Florida for the next week. Severe weather is not expected, but it could develop as the system drifts over warm water.

Stay dry and safe this week.
