Unchained Crackers

After 119 years our favorite cracker company, Nabisco, has finally changed their animal cracker logo to no longer show caged animals. This is after many complaints filed towards the company declaring them as supporters towards animal cruelty, in response to which Nabisco switched the logo.

Kimberly Fontes, the spokeswoman for Nabisco’s parent company, Mondelez International, said, “We’re always looking at how we do things to ensure we’re staying relevant for our consumers.” She goes on to say that it was the “right time for the next evolution in the brand’s design.” Nabisco is hopeful this new design showing the previously caged animals in the Savannah walking towards their freedom will lower customer’s anger.
