The movie is a live recording of 3 separate tour performances in August at the SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California, and runs about 2hrs and 48 minutes. The time is around half an hour shorter than her actual tour performances. While recording a live performance in a stadium seems like a bad idea, the movie came out in such high quality both visually and audibly, along with the editing on it being absolutely masterful.

The movie is out now in AMC theatres and will not be available on any steaming platforms until early 2024. Tickets are 19.89 plus tax celebrating Taylor’s October re-release of her 1989 album.
What happened opening night?
Originally, the movie was set to come out October 13th. But due to the huge demand, it came out a day early in America and Canada. Taylor Swift herself showed up in a Los Angeles theatre with her tour back-up dancers and crew along with a few other celebrities, including Adam Sandler and Beyoncé.
What was seeing the movie in theatres like?
The atmosphere in the theatre was nothing like a regular movie, “It’s like a mini concert,” says Zoe Sosa, a 9th grade Visual Artist and die-hard Taylor Swift fan, or “Swiftie.” Many theatres had people get up and dance, wave flashlights, and sing along to songs. Since the movie was resembling a concert already, the Swifties obviously had to dress up in their best outfits! Many dressed up as their chosen album aesthetic showing their excitement and pure passion for Taylor’s music. For example, if you like to wear hearts and pastels, go as Lover, Taylors most romantic album.

Taylor Swift already has a huge number of fans supporting her and that is mainly because she is not afraid to show who she is and how she feels. Most of her fan population consists of people who have been broken hearted at one point in their lives, those who constantly see different moments in their lives as “Eras,” or people just who want to jam out to her music. A lot of her music talks about how it is okay to go through tough times and show that she herself has been through hardships as well. Albums like “Folklore” and “Evermore” highlight these feelings extremely well. This draws a big audience because she is making people feel seen and able to relate to her music.
