Over the past year, gift sets have become all the rage. They’re a great way to try out highly sought after products at a discounted price- some are even 25 dollars or less! But with more options than ever before, how do you make sure that the set that you’re getting is worth it? For starters, look at the price per ounce of the items you’re looking for to ensure you get the best value. The best deal might not be the one you expect. If you remember last month’s issue, you’d know the importance of making sure that colors work on your skin tone. This is just as important when looking at holiday gift sets- there’s nothing worse than being stuck with a bunch of products that you can’t use! Double check the shades of the items you’re getting to make sure they’re worth the splurge- oh, and if a gift set contains a gift you can reuse, like a pretty makeup bag, even better.
If you don’t want to worry about matching shades, getting a skincare or fragrance gift set is another great option. Bath and Body Works is a beloved shopping destination for many teenagers, and they offer plenty of gifts sets with pretty packaging- and lots of other great items, too. “The gift sets are a great go-to gift, and it’s a nice combo of different products to try- the aromatherapy is the most popular line in my family,” says Ms. Ashley Kastner, an English and Creative Writing teacher at OCSA. Eucalyptus and Spearmint is a great fresh option to help your giftee de-stress during the holidays.
Besides gift sets, here are some other neat ideas for presents. A cool jewelry box or trinket tray is a great gift for jewelry lovers. You can even get some air-dry clay and paint to make your own unique tray. The holidays are a great time to get matching pajama sets with cute patterns. Oversized graphic t-shirts are a great loungewear item, too- bonus points if the graphic in question is something they like or an inside joke. And of course, you can never go wrong with tiny treasures, like enamel pins, buttons, or fun socks. In fact, there are plenty of sock advent calendars perfect for those who can just never find their other sock.
