Starting February 10, 2024, celebrations for Osceola County’s Rodeo Day commence.
Rodeo Day began with the intention to celebrate Presidents Day in a grand manner. The first recorded day of Rodeo Day dates all the way back to 1953, inviting different parades and rodeos to take place. The club in charge of carrying out the rodeos, the Silver Spurs Club, is a non-profit organization. It consists of volunteers, members, and their families.
The week-long celebration is packed with different activities. There will be a fair consisting of different rides, food, carnival games and stands for the public all throughout the weekend. Although it’s just a small part of the celebration, the fair is an anticipated and cherished event for all locals. “My favorite memory of the fair was spending the day with my family in the petting zoo. It was my first time going to the fair and I got to pet a goat!” said 11th grade creative writer Laura Sandoval, a lifelong local and annual fair attender.
Bright and early, the famed Rodeo Parade will take place on February 10, 2024, at 10 A.M. in the Saint Cloud area. Each year, different schools, organizations and volunteers participate in the event. Later that night, at 7:30 P.M., the Monster Bulls show will take place in Osceola Heritage Park to demonstrate different forms of bull riding. On February 15 and 16th, the 152nd Silver Spurs rodeo will show at 7:30 P.M., which shows bull riding, wrestling, team roping, etc. Finally, on February 17, the 152nd Silver Spurs rodeo will also take place, at 2 P.M.
Throughout the events, the average range for the prices are about $15 for a child’s admission, and $20-35 for an adult admission depending on the seating location. With the tickets you purchase, you get access to the rodeo, merchandise, concession stand and alcoholic beverages. To purchase in person, limited tickets will be sold at the box office starting at 3:30 P.M. for evening shows and 11 AM for matinee show if they haven’t sold out online. The area itself is indoors. Each performance lasts from 2 1/2 – 3 hours. The doors open 1 1/2 hours before the show begins. Tickets are available to purchase a month before this highly anticipated event.
