Poetic Power submissions are coming up! These submissions are due on April 4th, 2024. Poetic Power is a poetry writing contest open to students grades K-9 where you’re required to write a maximum of 21 lines on any topic. You also have the option to submit essays. Along with getting a chance at being published by Creative Communication, students can participate to win prizes and teachers could earn school supplies. The top 10 winners receive $25 and a free book with their work.
This is an opportunity to express your talent and celebrate student writers worldwide. “It’s an opportunity to submit, and I feel like I’m growing in my writing as I keep submitting,” said Dina Santiago, a sophomore creative writer who was one of the top ten winners of the contest last year. This opportunity is not just for creative writing majors, but for everyone. Taylor Swift submitted to this national contest and won at the age of ten for her poem “Monster in My Closet!” She has submitted before, and it helped her start her career as a singer. So, start here and submit to Creative Communication!
