Tickets are $10 on MySchoolBucks for general admission, but you may also pay at the door. To receive food, guests will need to pay an additional $5. Everyone is welcome to come! Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to celebrate Hispanic culture through an exciting show full of art.
This year’s theme is Cultural Fusion, the origin that unites us. Countries like Venezuela, Peru, Colombia, Puerto Rico, along with many others will be represented in the show. Many pieces will also include African, Indigenous, and Spanish roots to further emphasize where the Hispanic culture truly originates from. It was a long process for pieces to be approved since most pieces are brought forward by students. The process began months before, where each student with an idea for a performance had to send a proposal within the theme to the teacher in charge, Lizzette Marrero and their corresponding art director for the performance.
Maria Segovia, vice president of the Hispanic Honor Society and senior creative writer, is more than excited to perform her poetry. In her fourth and final year of performing in honor of her country, Venezuela, Segovia is glad to share the stage once more with her fellow artists. Inspired by her devoted love for her heritage and culture, Segovia brings to the stage her last piece. “The feeling is definitely bittersweet. I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have been given, however I am sad that it’s my last since I’ve shared so many memories on this stage,” she expresses in an interview.
