After a pause in production for season 3 of “Good Omens” that had fans worried it would never resume, production is back in business! Instead of a season that picks up where the end of season 2 left off, season 3 will be drastically shorter and feature a 90-minute-long finale, which is majorly different from the hour-long episodes the show has previously done. The premise remains the same: Crowley and Aziraphale, despite not getting along, will have to find a way to work together to once again stop the end of the world.
According to Jesus Jiménez, writer for The New York Times, “… according to a person at Disney, adding that the allegations were not the sole reason that the production was paused.” They will still be using some of Neil Gaiman’s writing, but Gaiman will not be present for the rest of production. Along with Neil Gaimen, Lucas Manfredim writer for the Wrap, explains that “co-showrunner Douglas Mackinnon revealed on social media that he wouldn’t be returning for the next installment”. Production of the show will resume producing in Scotland in early 2025 and will still premiere on Prime.
It is hoped that season 3, will still be up to fans’ standards.
