“If it’s like after Thanksgiving I understand, but before Thanksgiving… no,” says Alek Tercero. Is he right? Jackson Brady exclaims, “I love Christmas why should we have to wait?”. Both solid points. Most of the ‘we can’t celebrate Christmas before Thanksgiving’ talk comes from respect for Thanksgiving… anyway who would want to eat turkey next to a Christmas tree?
Although those red and green lights do look like they’d bring you joy every time you see them… maybe it isn’t too early. Let’s break it down, what are the pros and cons of celebrating Christmas early? Some pros include setting up early and not having to worry about it later, plus if you’re missing decorations you can pick them up at the store without everyone also going in for that same item. Seeing said decor will also give you a mood-boost when you see it, cute early Christmas photos, motivation/reminder to get gifts early, and honestly if we shouldn’t celebrate early then why is Christmas themed merchandise on the shelves in every store?
Now for the cons… besides answering the door to your guests on Thanksgiving with a reef on it and early-Christmas haters hating, there really aren’t many cons. Some say that only celebrating Christmas in December and leaving time for Thanksgiving makes the holiday more special. But unless you’re a turkey fanatic, I think Christmas will be just a special even if stretched across 2 months. Be sure to check your HOA regulations on if you can hang up decorations early and go crazy! Don’t let anyone ruin your Christmas fun.
