Earlier this month, Puerto Rican singer-rapper Bad Bunny released his sixth studio album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS (I Should Have Taken More Photos). This earns him his fourth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart with after its first full week of activity. Through its second week it remains at No. 1, joining his 2022 release Un Verano Sin Ti (A Summer Without You) with more than a week at the top.
DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS may join Un Verano Sin Ti as the 2022 release collected nonconsecutive 13 weeks topping the chart. His other two albums to reach No. 1 are Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va A Pasar Mañana (2023) and El Último Tour Del Mundo (2020).
The album has 17 songs, and the longer they are out, the more they replace each other on the Billboard charts. With his songs repeatedly knocking each other from the podium, Bad Bunny is the only act to replace himself at No. 1 five different times on Hot Latin Songs since the chart launched in 1994.
His self-replacement streak began in 2019 as “Vete” overtook “La Canción,” with J Balvin. After a week on top of the charts “Moscow Mule” traded places with “Me Porto Bonito,” with Chencho Corleone. “Titi Me Preguntó” began its 14-week domination, replacing “Me Borto Bonito.” Then a week after featuring on Drake’s “Gently,” it was overtaken by Bad Bunny’s “Mónaco.”
Focusing on his love for Puerto Rico, the nostalgic and traditional elements Bad Bunny uses in DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS allow him to break records and comfortably sit atop the charts for weeks to come.
