Painted Word, a collaborative event between Creative Writing and Visual Arts, is set to make it’s return on Thursday, January 30th from 6-8pm in the media center. For those who are unfamiliar, Painted Word is a 10 year-long standing tradition where poets and artists come together and create art inspired by the other’s piece. Whether creative writers use a piece to write a poem, or the visual artists paint a portrait based on a body of work created by a creative writer, the collaboration is a beautiful reminder of what art is truly meant to do: unify us. For the last couple of years, however, the event has been on a hiatus. But no more.
Join us as artists unveil their pieces, and the creative writers share the poems which inspired them!
Mr. Capley, Creative Writing Director, believes “Writers taking their words and building something with other artists gives beauty and truth to the world.” We hope you’ll come to the event to see OCSA’s artists perform and show off what makes their art beautiful.
While there is no cost of admission, you can make donations through QR codes at the event. Any amount is appreciated. See you there!
