Color Wars, one of OCSA’s most anticipated events, is taking place on February 12th. For anyone that doesn’t know, Color Wars is a big deal. Each grade level has their own assigned color. From that, they have to decorate a part of the school with a theme that goes along with that color. Then, they make a five-minute performance piece which will be judged at the end of the day. Whoever wins the performance and decorations and essential “wins” Color War.
The grades and their assigned colors go as follows:
- 6th Grade – Red
- 7th Grade – Orange
- 8th Grade – Yellow
- 9th Grade – Green
- 10th Grade – Light Blue
- 11th Grade – Dark/Navy Blue
- 12th Grade – Purple
Some of the most popular past performances have included Teen Beach Movie, Infinity, Purple Rain, Spotify, Tim Burton, Space, ZOMBIES, along with many others. This tradition helps promote collaboration among grade levels and majors. It also helps with fundraising and budgeting skills.
From hallways to performances to overall creativity, no matter who wins, it’s always fun to see the school spirit! Let’s make this color wars our best one yet!
