Valentines Day is famed for the love and affection shared between couples. Couples of every kind go out and spend the day together, giving each other quality time through various activities. However, what most don’t know is that you can have just as much fun as a single individual – especially as a woman. Here is your complete guide on the perfect Galantines!
First off, you have to decide your guest list. With every good function, it is advised to invite the people you feel most comfortable with. Many people tend to pay attention to the headcount of parties- they think that the more people you invite, the more fun it will be. While it does add to the atmosphere to have an entire house full of people, I assure you will enjoy it way more if you are surrounded by the people closest to you, regardless of the quantity of people.
Once you invited your guest list, now it’s time to think of the theme. This year, I decided to assign two different themes: one for the dress code and another one for the decorations. As for dress code, I announced that this year, everyone has to dress as a rom-com character, whatever leading lady you’d like. As for the decorations, I decided to buy everything according to the color scheme: pink, red, and white. I bought red, shiny streamers with little hearts cut out in it, pink table covers, red heart confetti, pink and red candles, amongst a bunch of other things. Most decorations could be found inside of dollar tree, which can be very financially efficient. In addition to all the small little decor I bought, I also got a cute little sign to put next to the desserts!
Now onto the food! By this time, you have to make sure who will be definitely showing up. You don’t want to buy a bunch of food that won’t get eaten. If you are just as broke and money conscious as I am, I would advise you to suggest that guests bring their own little galantines-themed snacks, just like I did. On top of what everyone brings, as the host, I plan to provide a little bit more. This year, I am going to make Mac & Cheese as one of the entrees, but this time with heart shaped pasta. I will make mocktails, consisting of raspberry lemonade and sprite. I will also buy a dozen valentines donuts from a Dunkin Donuts nearby my house. Just remember to keep portions in mind when planning for food so that you don’t waste groceries and money!
No Galantines would be complete without a list of games and activities to do! Aside from stuffing our faces with food and admiring the ambiance, what really pulls a Galentine’s together are the activities that bond the guests. This year, I have a series of four games to do: Guess the look, Pinterest perceive, build their perfect boyfriend, and blind, deaf and mute challenge. In guess the look, everyone will be paired up by random and given a theme that only their team can see. One team member will use makeup on the other team member to try to show the theme given. At the end, everyone will come together and try to guess the theme. In Pinterest perceive, everyone gets paired up again and makes a Pinterest board based on how they perceive the other person. They will pick pictures based on categories given. IN build their boyfriend, you get paired up and build the other person’s “perfect man”. In the famous blind, deaf, mute challenge all guests will split up into 3 person teams and assign one of the roles to each member. They will then have a challenge to build a valentines timed gingerbread house faster than all the other teams.
With this brief explanation, I showed you exactly how I planned by Galantines this year. Everything is all about doing what makes you most comfortable. Just have fun and enjoy this Galantines with the people you love!
