The quality of the portable bathrooms has been rapidly declining, causing widespread concern amongst both students and staff. Graffiti on the walls, paper towels and toilet paper littering the floors, water soaking the floors, and even broken wall dividers have been reported. “I think the girl’s bathroom has been flooded at one point,” said Robert Kaplinger, a teacher directly affected by the ongoing portable bathroom crisis. Several staff members have suspected students wanting to use the bathrooms in the main building as the primary cause of vandalism.
It is critical that students use the sign-out sheets and hall passes provided by teachers, go to the bathroom that is closest to the, and if a student is caught in the act of causing damage to a bathroom stall, consequences include referrals, paying restitution, or potentially being asked to leave the school, depending on the severity of the situation. Students are also discouraged from spending an extended amount of time in the bathroom and returning to class as promptly as possible. Please do your part to help keep the OCSA bathrooms clean!
At press time, several suspects of bathroom vandalism have been identified, but the investigation is still ongoing.
