The Potential Culvers Kidnapper
September 14, 2018
Monday, September 10th, 2018 an older man approached several OCSA students in the Culvers parking lot and inside the restaurant. The man allegedly asked several students if they were alone and if they would get in his car. The students rightfully denied the man and contacted law enforcement.
Since the restaurant opened students and parents have shifted their after-school routine to be picked up at Culvers to avoid afterschool traffic. While administration cannot stop students from crossing Orange Blossom Trail after school hours, the school has vehemently advised against this, sending home several letters and even making announcements during the school day. So far it appears that even after this dangerous encounter students will continue to get picked up at the restaurant.
On behalf of The OCSA Ledger staff, we encourage all students to be alert and do not hesitate if they feel uncomfortable in their surroundings.
