Actress Marie Avgeropoulos, most known from the CW’s post-apocalyptic series “The 100”, has been arrested for domestic violence after allegedly assaulting her boyfriend. She struck her boyfriend on the freeway, hitting him on the neck, head, and arm, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. He contacted police right after and she was taken into custody. The actress faces up to four years in prision.

The Los Angeles County prosecutors say the 32-year old actress and her boyfriend had been arguing in a car on the Freeway shortly after midnight on August 5th. A source close to Avgeropoulos said that she was allegedly on new medication and mixed wine that evening which probably led to her reaction.

After the call for the police, the boyfriend reportedly did not want her arrested, but rather to mitigate the situation. He is even reported to be the one that bailed her out. She was released on a $50,000 bail.

Avgeropoulos’s boyfriend has asked for the charges to be dropped. Her boyfriend claims that he did not know that calling the police woudl result in Avgeropoulos’s arrest because situations are handled differently in Canda.

In her mugshot, the 32-year-old star appeared to be crying. She was not there during the 2018 “Teen Choice Awards” on Sunday following her arrest even though the “The 100” was nominated for “Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show.

Avgeropoulos has not yet commented publicly on the arrest.
