The 2019 Grammy Award nominations were finally announced on December 7th with rap stars Drake and Kendrick Lamar taking a lead , both earning album and song of the year. Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Post Malone, and Kacey Musgraves are also among the top nominees at this year’s ceremony.

After backlash over the lack of female nominees last year, the Grammy aimed to get more women in the Record of the Year and Best New Artist category. Last year male nominees won majority of the categories and prompted the hashtag #GrammysSoMale which trended on Twitter. Famous female nominees such as rapper Cardi B,  Brandie Carlile, H.E.R., and Janelle Monáe are among the women who will compete for album of the year against some of hip-hop’s biggest names.

The host of the Grammys this year is unknown, but it will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 10,2019 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
