Jayme Closs, a 13-year-old girl from Wisconsin that went missing about 3 months ago was found alive in a city an hour away from her hometown. Closs was reported missing on October 15, 2018, after her parents were found shot dead in their home.

Closs was found in Gordon Wisconsin at around 4:43 pm after she escaped a home in town and approached a woman who was walking her dog. The woman, who wishes to remain unnamed, told reporters that Closs asked her for help; she immediately recognized her as the girl that went missing and went to a neighbor’s house to wait for police. Closs told neighbors that she didn’t know where she was but knew that she had been in the town since October.

Jayme’s family is both shocked and happy that she has been found alive. Her uncle, Jeff Closs said: “We thought it was going to be a different ending and we’re so happy that you know, hopefully, she’s ok, we don’t really know what shape she’s in. Or you know, we don’t really know a lot, all we know is that she’s alive.”

Jake Thomas Patterson was taken into custody last night and has recently been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, and one count of kidnapping. Police confirmed that Patterson killed Jayme’s parents, Denise and James Closs because he wanted to kidnap their daughter.
