President Trump is scheduled to make an appearance during CBS’ pre-game coverage of Super Bowl LIII on Sunday after opting not to participate in last year’s interview, a report said. The president will have a pre-taped interview that will be aired on “Face the Nation” with anchor Margaret Brennan, CBS News said, according to Variety.

“For his first network television interview since the end of the partial government shutdown, President Trump will sit down later this week for an interview with @FaceTheNation’s ⁦@margbrennan⁩ before the #SuperBowl. https://t.co/VQFdTQHAt2

Last year, the White House and NBC News were unable come to terms on an interview, the report said, but didn’t say what terms were decided on  this years interview. The pre-Super Bowl Presidential Interview has become an American tradition, Deadline reported. Former President Obama did live interviews for all eight years of his presidency.

But the camera won’t be off of President Trump for long; two days after the Super Bowl, President Trump will deliver the State of the Union Address per request of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The full interview will be released CBS’s pregame coverage, at around 3:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The pre-game Presidential interview has been a tradition ever since former President Bush sat down with CBS’s Jim Nantz ahead of Super Bowl XXXV in 2001, and with former President Obama doing one every year of his presidency.
