Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcomed their first-born child early Monday morning.

Prince Harry had expressed that he was “over the moon about the arrival of his son. “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy earlier this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, and we’re both absolutely thrilled.”

When the baby first arrived, the name had not yet been decided, however, on Wednesday, hours after the Duke and Duchess posed for cameras with their son in the St. George’s Hall at the Windsor Castle in Berkshire England, the couple revealed the baby’s name on Instagram: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. When asked how they decided to name their son Archie, the couple said that they didn’t have a specific reason, and just really loved the name.

While the three children of Prince Harry’s brother received titles, Archie, who is seventh in line to the throne, will not be able to receive the title of prince. Although the Duke and Duchess have decided not to give their son any title, once Prince Charles becomes King, Archie will receive the title of ‘His Royal Highness’.

Overall, the family is very excited about the arrival of their first child. In a heartfelt statement, Meghan expressed that she was overjoyed. “It’s magic. It’s pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world, so I’m really happy.”

The baby is the first biracial heir in the royal family.
