On Friday, December 13th, The National Hispanic Honor Society (NHHS) at Osceola County School for the Arts (OCSA) participated in the Reading in the Dual Language Program where the students of NHHS read to students in Spanish from Kindergarten through 2nd grade at East Lake Elementary School.

At the end of the reading circles, the elementary students received handmade bookmarks in “memory of this great event” says Mrs. Marrero, sponsor of OCSA’s NHHS.

OCSA’s NHHS club has been doing this activity for many years and all nine of the NHHS board members are participating. Since there are only nine students on the board, Mrs. Marrero says that 11 more students that are either active members or members-to-be in January who can make arrangements for transportation can participate on a first come, first served basis.
