Saturday January 18th, the City of Kissimmee will be hosting a Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration in Historic Downtown Kissimmee from 10 AM-4 PM.

The celebration will start at 10 AM with a parade that will go through the heart of Downtown Kissimmee. Gospel, R&B, and Soul artists will be preforming through out the day and food trucks vendors, and other activities will also be available. The festival is celebrating unity and community throughout the years and hopes that many people will join them in this celebration. Entry is free and everyone is welcome to come, there will even be kids zones for young children where they can also enjoy their day.

The city of Kissimmee also held a poetry and essay competition that two students here at OCSA won. The high school essay competition was won by Senior Creative Writer Raquel Perry, and the middle school poetry competition was won by 6th grade Creative Writer Sabrina Glow. They are invited to join the festivities and will be given an award at 12pm during the festival.
