Osceola County School for the Arts presents their 2025 prom: Veiled Secrets, A Garden Masquerade. Prom will be on April 27, 2025 from 7pm-11pm, doors will open at 7pm but students are welcome to come in 30 minutes earlier. Entry for prom will close at 8pm promptly. The dance will be located at the Double Tree Hotel by Hilton, in a venue similar in size to the one used last year. Juniors and seniors who have purchases tickets are excited to join this dance with their guests. Prom chairs Teresa Alphanzo, Isabelle Gonzalez, Vanessa Sandoval, Ronayshia Moore- Berkeley, and Victor Aramayo have been working hard to make this prom memorable.
Prom court will allow eligible students to fill out a form to nominate themselves. They have all of this week to campaign for themselves and their friends, leaving them anticipating for the final decisions. Prom queen, king, princess, and prince will all be voted for and announced the night of prom. Seniors will only be able to vote for seniors and juniors for juniors, respectively. This friendly competition is meant to be a fun way to remember high school and live the TV dream! No students are allowed to campaign against others, only in favor.
The prom chairs and their sponsor, Robert Kaplinger, know the importance of music at prom, “We will be sending out a google forms for students, both seniors and juniors, to send their music recommendations!” Kaplinger expressed in an interview. He also shared an exclusive sneak peak that this year, the food at prom will be a surprise catering. Additionally, decorations include flower center pieces with fairy lights intertwining the stems, a pathway leading to an arch, a photo booth, and a 360 video camera set up. The inspiration for this year’s prom was based on a collective Pinterest board the prom chairs carefully curated. “I think it’s going to be really great! I can’t wait for everyone to see the prom we have worked so hard to plan,” Vanessa Sandoval excitedly shared in an interview.
The dress code for this event is formal. All guests are only permitted to wear masks that cover up to 50% of their face. Masks will also be apart of the party favors, so students will not be expected to bring their own. This prom welcomes all colors and will not have a specific color scheme.
Prom is the event every student has waited for since their kindergarten days. It is a staple in the American experience and a night we all hope to remember. Dress the best you can and come enjoy yourself at a dance meant to celebrate your high school journey, see you there!
