“Spring Break” is one of the most high-anticipated times of the year for students and teachers alike. With the second semester dragging on for what feels like forever, the week-long break is the best way to have fun and rejuvenate yourself for the rest of the school year. So, how do you make the most out of those seven days?
Make a spring break bucket list. Figure out what kind of spring break you want to have. Do you want to go to the pool? Do you want to go to the theme parks? Do you just want to lay in bed and rewatch “The Summer I Turned Pretty?” Talk to your friends and family to see what plans they have and then suggest ideas you have from there. If you are looking for suggestions, a personal favorite of mine that not a lot of people know about is Ichetucknee Springs. It’s best known for its cool springs and wildlife. If you want to find escape from the harsh Florida heat, look no further than the springs.
If you’re looking for a more general list of ideas, some of my favorite ideas to become a true spring breaker include:
- Water balloon fights
- Going to the movies
- Going to an arcade
- Painting tote bags
- Going outside
Another good idea for spring break is going traveling with you family. Allison Walze shared that she will be spending spring break in Mar largo, saying that “there are a lot of beautiful beaches there. Nice weather, not too hot.” The beach is one of the best ways to spend spring break. Nothing like a refreshing breeze and riding the waves.
However, if you want a more chill spring break, catching up on TV shows is always fun. Or, if you’re more the studious type, crack open a book. Many tests are to be expected at the end of the year, especially if you are a high schooler. So, studying is always a good option if you are looking for something to do. (Or, if you’re a teacher, start thinking about future lesson plans if you have not already done so.)
No matter what you do, it’s called a spring “break” for a reason. Unwind however you want to, but make sure to be safe and fun while you do so!
