The OCSA Ledger is taking a break for the summer, but we’ll be back to serve in fall.
It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the art of news to you all. This year, as co-editor, I learned the incredible importance of flexibility. I will admit, it wasn’t always easy. There were times when I struggled to find a balance between my duties as an editor or reporter. However, I feel I now truly understand what it means to be an editor. It’s the art of wearing two hats. I try to act as a guide to my staff, while also guiding myself through new tasks and responsibilities.
My goal is always to create an environment where all staff members feel welcome, and I think I did a pretty good job of that. It’s been a pleasure for me to grow alongside my staff throughout this year. I’m thankful to everyone on staff and their dedication to the newspaper.
I’ve learned how to fully step into my leadership role, and it’s not only benefited me as a member of The Ledger, but as a person. I feel more confident in my decision-making skills. The Ledger has grown my resilience, and I am no longer afraid of a challenge or two that might come my way.
I’d like to give special thanks fellow editor, Jessica Vanderbeck, for inspiring me with her daily ambition (congratulations to her and all our graduating staff members).
My hope for next year is to draw in more readers for The Ledger. The Ledger staff works diligently to provide trustworthy and entertaining articles, and I would love to bring more attention to their efforts.
From everyone on The OCSA Ledger: Have a great summer, and we’ll see you next year!
Much love,
Evelyn Tippett
