November is kindness month! Kindness is the quality of being friendly and generous to everyone. So, what are some simple ways you can be kind?
- Hold the door for people passing through.
- Give someone a genuine compliment.
- Express your empathy.
- Write a nice note or letter to your friends.
- Keep your negative opinions to yourself.
- Respect everyone’s differences.
- Find the silver lining.
- Do small favors for others without expecting anything in return.
The key to being kind is being consistent. While November is kindness month, let’s try to make every month kindness month!
Dayana Alfaro, President of OCSA’s chapter of NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, stated that “practicing kindness helps us become better for ourselves and the people around us. Kindness can be the highlight of someone’s day and can truly impact people for the better.”
