The Divisional Round is underway in the playoffs with eight teams securing a chance at possibly advancing to the Super Bowl. The first four teams will compete on January 17 with the Denver Broncos against the Buffalo Bills at 4:30pm and the Seattle Seahawks against the San Francisco 49ers at 8:00pm. The following day, on January 18, the New England Patriots will compete against the Houston Texans at 3:00pm followed by the Chicago Bears against the Los Angeles Rams at 6:30pm.
Both the Broncos and the Seahawks clinched the number one seed in their respective conference, securing their position in this round. They are set to face off against the lowest remaining seed in the division, which is based on wins and losses. This results in the game day lineup that’s on the 17th. For the other teams however, they had to compete intensely in the Wild Card Round to head further into the Playoffs. The Patriots dominated the Chargers in their 16-3 win while the Bears overcame a large deficit over the Packers with a 31-27 win.
The remaining teams, the Wild Card picks, have also had exciting Playoff games. In the American Football Conference (AFC) the Texans and Bills, defeated their divisional teams, knocking both the Steelers and the Jaguars from the Playoffs. In the National Football Conference (NFC), the Rams and 49ers, had incredibly close games with the Panthers and Eagles. All four picks had intense games with some even stealing the win within the last few minutes of the 4th quarter.
So far, all the teams in the Playoffs have competed diligently in hopes that they could secure a spot at the Conference Championships and eventually the February 8th Super Bowl in Santa Clara, California.
