Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and finding a way to make the day fun while being budget friendly isn’t easy. Whether you plan on spending the day with a partner, friends, or just by yourself, there is always something for everyone. Here is a list of fun activities (that don’t break the bank) you can try to make your Valentine’s Day worth your while!
Taking a stroll in the park
In the Kissimmee-Orlando area there are a vast number of scenic parks you can go to take a nice walk with a loved one. This a relaxing way to know your partner deeper or to simply bask in all the love on a nice walk by yourself. Kissimmee Lakefront Park and Lake Eola are both wonderful places that have beautiful views, vibes, and numerous stores during this season.
Kissimmee Lakefront Park, aside from its normal park activities, is hosting a 5k run on the 14th from 7:30am to 9:30 am. Awards will be given out to individuals with the “Biggest Club” or for being the “Cutest Cupid”. It’s a cute activity that is sure to get your heart racing.
Visit a flea market
Exploring and supporting local vendors in a flea market is a great way to spend the season of love. It’s the perfect opportunity to buy a special gift for a loved one and enjoy the Valentines trinkets. At Lake Eola, there will be a pop-up market hosted by Vendor Rush from 9am-3pm featuring over 25 vendors.
The Florida Vintage Market is also available for you to enjoy on the 14th. The market will be held at Purple Ocean Superfood Bar from 12pm-5pm with over 30 vendors. They will also have flower and bouquet making to honor Valentine’s Day.
Go to a theme park
Visiting theme parks such as Disney Springs, Universal CityWalk, ICON park, or Old Town can be a great inexpensive way to have fun on Valentine’s Day. They have a multitude of restaurants and stores to visit to indulge in some fun valentines shopping. Some places like ICON park and Old Town as well have thrilling amusement rides for you to bring some excitement to the day.
Botanical Gardens
Admiring beautiful arrays of flowers and plants is sure to set your Valentine’s Day apart while not forcing you to spend too much money. At Lukas Nursery there will be a Rose and Orchid show to view and learn more about the flowers with that special someone or your galantines squad. Harry P. Leu Gardens another scenic location has a wide variety of flowers and plants for you to enjoy. General admission is between $15-$10 for adults and children respectively.
No matter what you choose to experience on Valentines Day, spend your day reflecting on the love in your life. Whether that be a crush, a partner, your parents, friends, or yourself remember that there is always love in the air. Even on the regular days, love can be found anywhere.
