The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is hosting Arts Week once again from March 30 to April 4 during lunch in the courtyard. Their theme of Metamorphosis embraces growth and transformation, especially as OCSA heads into a new era with the campus construction.
All week during lunch, there will be exciting activities: T-shirt decorating, glitter tattoos, henna, and more. There will be a photo-op moment for students to snap pictures with all of their friends as well as music to set the vibe of the week. Installations that will capture the epitome of growth will be strewn across the courtyard.
The Visual Arts Department advises all students who wish to enjoy the events to bring cash. They also stress that if students want a decorated T-shirt design that they should bring their own clothing. It’s also important to note that for all students looking to receive henna, they must have a signed permission slip that can be found at the front office.
Similar to their upcoming art show, RE•DUX: Reframing the Future, Arts Week will highlight themes of renewal and change. Victoria Morales, 10th grade visual artist and Historian of NAHS stated how she believes Arts Week is “really important, especially with the new building, to show like new beginnings and new life, even when things are hard.”
She expressed how the club has been preparing for this event for months and has invested lots of hard work into ensuring that students are able to enjoy all of the activities to the fullest. On behalf of NAHS, Morales expressed how the entire club is “really excited to show our Metamorphosis theme to the whole school.”
