The first PERT testing window is over and many OCSA students are ready to take their next steps in their Valencia Dual Enrollment application process. The application window is now open and closes February 26th. Prospective Dual Enrollment students are required to have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA for 6-11th and a 3.0 weighted for 12th grade.
Students are also required to have one of the minimum test scores including:
- Pert: Reading-106 Writing-103 Math-114
- ACT: Reading-19 English-17 Math-19
- SAT Digital: Reading/Writing-490 Math-480
- CLT: Reading+Writing-38 Math-16
Before registering, applicants should keep in mind that they should be using a different email than their school email to complete the application. To start the application applicants should go to valenciacollege.edu/dual and click apply now. Students should select sign up and submit their information. Soon an email should be received entitled “Get Started on your Valencia College Application”. Then students should click start new application and navigate to the correct term.
Some other tips to keep in mind is to make sure the new Valencia username and password is written down as well as any other important information that would be detrimental to lose. Also, when submitting the application, it is important to make sure that it is fully completed and check for miniscule errors. Students should remember to click “save and continue” throughout the application as well.
After submitting the application and all recommendations and other forms are turned in students will receive an email from Valencia about 5-7 business days later. This email will include the student’s Valencia ID. It is recommended that students write down their Valencia ID or save it somewhere.
There are also many resources at OCSA when it comes to the dual enrollment process such as the school counselors, and specifically Ms. Gill the College and Career Counselor. Ms. Karaki, one of our counselors, also hosts a Dual Enrollment first timers group students are welcome to sign up for at the beginning of their first dual enrollment term.
