Last year, the Film and Photography club held OCSA’s first film festival. With a selection of films ranging from short comedies to dramatic features, the festival showcased a range of creativity.
Across majors, especially with Creative Writing expanding into Communication Arts and including a film track, lots of students are interested in exploring the film medium. As many begin to study film, the club wants to create a space where students can collaborate and share their work!
The club is looking for student short films that tell an authentic story. No previous experience is required. According to the guidelines, you may create a 2 – 15-minute short film, under any theme. The submission will be due late April for the board to screen, and this year’s judges to review.
Creating a short film means creating connections. In this project, it is encouraged to collaborate with the artistic community around you. Speak to a creative writer for script tips, ask a visual artist for advice on visual composition!
Making a film isn’t a lonely journey. OCSA is full of creativity.

What are you waiting for?
Start writing! Start casting! Start creating! It does not need to be perfect; you just need to begin.
